MTN Group raises dividend as H1 service revenue grows 9.7%

(Telecompaper) African mobile operator MTN reported service revenue up 9.7 percent at constant currency rates to ZAR 67.9 billion in the first half of 2019, while EBITDA expanded by 10.2 percent to ZAR 31.2 billion. MTN said it had strong subscriber growth of 7.7 million during the period to reach a total of 240 million subscribers at the end of June.  

Liberty Global Q2 results lower, plans share buyback with sale proceeds

(Telecompaper) Liberty Global reported organic revenues from its continuing operations down 0.9 percent in the second quarter. This excludes its German and Eastern European businesses just sold to Vodafone, but includes the Swiss activities, which are not expected to sell until Q4. The weakness in Switzerland and Belgium offset growth in the UK in the quarter. Liberty Global announced it will use some of the proceeds from the divestments for share buybacks. 

Deutsche Telekom Q2 revenues, EBITDA up 7%, led by growth in US

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom reported second-quarter results up in line with its full-year outlook, again driven by the strong performance at T-Mobile US. Revenues rose 7.1 percent to EUR 19.66 billion, and adjusted EBITDA was up 7.1 percent as well after adjusting for leases, to EUR 6.28 billion.
